 It is an impact printer. These printers print each character as of dots.
Dot matrix printer is commonly used in the work place where physical impact with paper is important. A dot matrix create the character or image by using a mechanism called print head. The printer consist of an electromagneticaly driven print head which is made magnetically. Driver print head across the paper which strike the printer ribbon situated between the paper and print head pin. it contains a matrix of sort pins arranged in one or more columns. The capital letter are formed by 5x7 matrix dots , 5 dots rows and 7 dots columns. Through there are 9 pin in the print head. The bottom 2 pins are used to form the small letter on reading instruction from PC. The printer uses any character of pins output any combination creating the character or image. Its speed is normally 200 to 500 characters per second. There are 80 columns.
